The Stop-Motion Film That You Have to See If You're Human
Life can prove to be full of hopelessness, in a way that one can't even come to grips anymore to the fact that he's alive, and thus functions, willing or unwilling, according to life's rules. Duke Johnson and Charlie Kaufman (writer for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind)'s stop-motion picture Anomalisa speaks just about that, the human condition, in a way that only the practicality of the puppets' rendition of human perplexities is able to show on screen. Touching and inspiring, the film's voices are Jennifer Jason Leigh, David Thewlis, and Tom Noonan. Love and its endeavors, loss and its afflictions, all coming to screen in January next year.
